‘Star Wars’ fans are hoping one particular ‘The Clone Wars’ character survived Order 66

Some are hoping she was trained as an Inquisitor.

For all the love that the Star Wars franchise has given and received over the years, the world won’t soon forget its status as the single biggest offender of one of the most exhausting genre fiction tropes in history. Namely, “this character died, but not really.”

We can thank The Rise of Skywalker for that one, of course, but perhaps that memorable slice of nonsense will inadvertently make the return of other lost-to-time characters that much easier to swallow. There’s one Clone Wars favorite, however, that r/StarWars would happily welcome back into the fold after her uncertain fate in the show.

Indeed, Barriss Offee left quite the impact in the aforementioned animated series, leaving a large, gaping hole in Ahsoka’s heart where the concept of friendship should be whilst serving as a living, breathing reminder of the role that the Jedi tragically played in the formation of the Empire.

As she was a Jedi prisoner at the time of Order 66, some users figured that Barriss, who was technically still a padawan, would have gotten executed in her cell as the Empire sought to wipe out the Jedi, but others were quick to point out that this is Star Wars, the franchise that Palpatine somehow returned to.

Others are convinced that she was recruited by the Empire and trained as an Inquisitor.

But if there’s one thing the thread can mostly agree on, it’s that they hope it’s all leading up to an appearance in Dave Filoni’s Ahsoka series.

In any case, that’s one more lightsaber-savvy favorite that we can add to the long list of Star Wars characters the internet is hoping for a return for. At this point, perhaps it would be worth greenlighting Star Wars: Ghosts to explore the galaxy’s afterlife and the many characters who may or may not reside in it at this point in time.
