Today brought the joyous announcement that we’re getting a second live-action Star Wars TV series alongside The Mandalorian. As you’ve surely heard by now, it’ll be a prequel to Rogue One starring Diego Luna as Rebel spy Cassian Andor and will premiere exclusively on the newly-christened streaming service Disney +.

Star Wars fans naturally went crazy at the news that we’re getting more from the 2016 movie, which has already become a firm favorite of the fandom. What’s more, it seems Cassian has a lot of love from Rogue One devotees. Just check out these tweets for evidence.

Others, meanwhile, couldn’t resist having a joke at the expense of the tragic fate we know Cassian meets at the end of Rogue One – being killed by the Death Star on the planet Scarif.

Too soon, man, too soon.

On a lighter note, others really want Diego Luna’s dream to come true in his own Star Wars show. You know what you gotta do, Lucasfilm – let him touch Jabba the Hutt!

Meanwhile, others are really hoping that K-2SO’s origins are explained. For instance, how he was reprogrammed into a rebel droid.

But one fan summed it up best. We all know what the real highlight about a Cassian TV show is, right? The opportunity for more awesome Star Wars jackets!

On the whole, while some may complain that Disney is diluting the brand by producing so much Star Wars content, you have to admit that it means we’re in for an exciting few years.

Lucasfilm has supplied a brief synopsis for the series, as well, saying that the show will follow “the adventures of rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One.” Details beyond that remain scarce, but tell us, which side of the fence are you on? Are you excited for this Star Wars prequel show or not? Sound off in the usual place down below.
