The last few weeks have been full of twists, turns, and surprises for Game of Thrones fans. Even though the eighth and final season kicked off a little slowly – replete with heartfelt monologues, a few steamy scenes, and a few shocking deaths – things have certainly ramped up as of late.
“The Long Night,” which aired back in April, treated longtime viewers to more than an hour of some truly grueling combat, not to mention a few intense standoffs and tragic deaths. Last week’s episode, meanwhile, “The Last of the Starks,” was a more subdued affair, though it’s been front and center on social media for the past couple of days.
As wild as this season has been, some fans are a little concerned with the direction the series is taking. With only two episodes left, Game of Thrones devotees are wondering how the writing team and showrunners are planning to wrap things up in short order. With this final season being the shortest yet – with only six episodes – it’s understandable that longtime viewers are afraid that the conclusion will be rushed.
That hasn’t stopped anyone from speculating though, and some celebs have weighed in with their predictions. As reported by Epic Stream, veteran horror writer Stephen King took to Twitter earlier this week to share his own thoughts.
Suppose–just suppose, now–that Jon and Dani BOTH died (along with Cersei, of course). Suppose–just suppose–that a certain little man with a big heart ended up sitting on the Iron Throne?

Yep, it seems King is siding with Team Tyrion on this one, speculating that all three key players – Jon, Dani, and Cersei – will die, leaving the Hand of the Queen free to ascend to the Iron Throne. Better yet, Stephen fired back at some internet trolls who have told him that he doesn’t know “how to end a story.”
Of course for years some people have told me I don't know how to end a story. I call bullshit on that, but everyone has an opinion.

Either way, we won’t have to wait long to see how things pan out. The final two episodes of Game of Thrones are set to air on May 12th and 19th, respectively.
