Sure, the prospect of Supergirl crossing over with any of the CW DC shows seems bleak at best, but this is a list about who we WANT to see, not who we EXPECT to. And if we're playing by those rules, The Flash definitely makes the cut.
The Flash and Supergirl have partnered (and even faced off) a lot in the comics, and there's no denying that Barry Allen would feel right at home on Supergirl (more so than Oliver Queen, at least). Seeing the two team up on the small screen would be the Justice League tease we've all been waiting for, and could lead to an excellent hour of television.
It may be a long shot, but hey, if The Flash is going to explore the Multiverse next season, maybe there's a chance these two cross paths!
When it was first announced that Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler were developing a television series around Supergirl, many (including myself) immediately wondered if it were possible for the last daughter of Krypton to share the same canonical universe as any of the other current DC Comics shows, such as The Flash and Arrow, which Berlanti also produces. Those hopes were diminished, however, when the series got picked up by CBS, and not by The CW, the current home of the aforementioned Scarlet Speedster and Emerald Archer.

Of course, anything’s possible, so Berlanti stating that a Supergirl/Flash/Arrow crossover could happen isn’t exactly confirmation that such a thing ever will happen. However, it’snice to see that such a thing has not been outright dismissed, despite the fact that the shows air on different networks. Putting Barry Allen and Oliver Queen on screen together is as easy as having Grant Gustin walk across The CW studio lot and step into the Star City soundstage; placing Supergirl in either Star or Central City isn’t quite as simple.
Not only do the networks have to come to some sort of agreement about the business side of things, but the storylines and tones of the various shows have to mesh in a way that’s worthwhile for the audience – something that’s easier said than done, even in the highly versatile comic book genre. So it’s possible, yes, but is it necessary, or even worth the effort? That remains to be seen.
Still, I’m happy that the hope for such a crossover is alive and well; I’m not sure how it would happen, but I’d love to see Kara Zor-El come face to face with the Arrow or The Flash, and expand the DCTV universe farther than we could have initially anticipated.
