With the casting news for CBS’ forthcoming Supergirl series coming thick and fast, it’s now emerged that the show will feature another massive DC Comics favorite. Now, try not to blow your tops, because Kara Zor-El’s cousin, Superman, is the latest character expected to appear. The news comes from Project Casting (via Comic Book Movie), who provided details of a recent casting sheet for the show:

We are looking for BODY DOUBLE for a DC Comic Superhero –
You must be available for an interview this Thursday and if selected will work several days during March.
This is for a CBS pilot. You can be SAG or Non-Union.
You should be 5’11 or taller and be Square Jawed
and have a ripped physique.
You must send a bodyshot, shirtless, sizes, current contact info and your first five to [email deleted]…. in the ubject line write SUPERMAN.

If there was any doubt on who they’re referring to, that last line ought to clear things up. Although, this seems to contradict earlier reports that Supes would not be making an appearance on the show. However, as the ad states, the position is for “several days,” indicating that it may be nothing more than a glorified cameo or a mere body double stand-in role. Taking into account the additional requirements – tall, square-jawed and ripped – we might not even see the poor guy’s face!

Expected to commence production shortly, Supergirl will be brought to the small screen by The Flash and Arrow creator Greg Berlanti, who will oversee the project for the network. Melissa Benoist stars as the titular superhero, who adjusts to life on Earth by getting a new job (working for Calista Flockhart’s boss figure, Cat Grant), while learning how to temper her extraordinary abilities.
