Sweet Christmas! Luke Cage Is Getting A Season 2

Earlier today at Comic-Con Brazil, Netflix announced that they’ll be bringing back Luke Cage for a second season. While not exactly surprising news, given how well the first outing did, not to mention the character’s upcoming role in The Defenders, it’s still great to hear – especially because season 1 left us with quite a few questions.

To celebrate the announcement, Marvel released the following teaser. It doesn’t show off anything at all from Luke’s next adventure though, instead simply confirming that the Hero for Hire will be back on Netflix for more.

As of now, we have no idea when Luke will return. With 2017 already set to see the debut of Iron First, The Defenders and The Punisher though, it doesn’t look likely that we’ll be getting the show’s second season any time next year. 2018 is certainly a possibility, with only Jessica Jones season 2 and Daredevil season 3 slated to premiere on the streaming service, but at this point, we can’t say for sure.

Of course, plot details are also non-existent at this stage, but the show certainly left a lot open with its season finale, so there are numerous avenues it could head down for its sophomore outing. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see, but at least we can rest easy knowing Luke Cage will definitely be returning to our screens at some point in the future.
