Syfy has released their latest promo trailer today and along with clips from all their returning series – Defiance, Haven, Dominion, Helix, etc. – there are a few brief moments from the latest addition to their line-up, 12 Monkeys.

There isn’t anything about these images that looks much different from what the network showed fans in the teaser trailer we saw last month, but they definitely still give us the creeps. You can catch a glimpse of the 12 Monkeys logo about half-way through the clip, and if you’ve seen the movie, that definitely means that there’s trouble brewing ahead.

12 Monkeys stars Aaron Stanford and Noah Bean, both alums from the CW’s Nikita, which ended last December after a shortened final season, as well as Pretty Little Liars‘ Amanda Schull and Fringe’s Kirk Acevedo. Similar to the original film version, the show will follow a time traveler, played by Stanford, who comes from the future with the intent to change the course of humanity. Or in other words, he is on a mission to save the human race from a deadly virus that in his post-apocalyptic world killed just about everyone. Hopefully Standford’s character is as resourceful as Bruce Willis’s character was.

It’s definitely an interesting premise, and Syfy seems like the perfect network to house a show of this nature, so I’m pretty hopeful that the TV version of Terry Gilliam’s 1995 masterpiece will turn out alright.

Check out the video below and let us know what you think Syfy’s take on 12 Monkeys in the comments section!
