The Badland Beckons In First Photos For Westworld Episode 4 “Dissonance Theory”

It would be a discredit to Westworld's strong opening to say that, three episodes in, HBO's budding new flagship is beginning to hit its stride, but as the premiere of “Dissonance Theory” draws near, there's no question that the sci-fi drama is really starting to hook in its viewers with a deft mix of strong performances and thought-provoking material.

It would be a discredit to Westworld‘s strong opening to say that, three episodes in, HBO’s budding new flagship is beginning to hit its stride, but as the premiere of “Dissonance Theory” draws near, there’s no question that the sci-fi drama is really starting to hook in its viewers with a deft mix of strong performances and dark, thought-provoking material.

That’ll hopefully continue on Sunday, October 23 with the show’s fourth installment, and in completing the one-two punch following the debut of the intriguing first promo, HBO has now rolled out a series of screenshots teasing danger in the Badland.

Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) is placed front and center here, saddling up for a trip beyond the confines of Westworld along with William and Logan. What’s more, though he isn’t pictured here, Anthony Hopkins’ Dr. Robert Ford is evidently cooking up plans for the future of this most ambitious artificial reality, which can only spell more doom and gloom for those Hosts. This, coupled with the maze that Jeffrey Wright’s head programmer Bernard Lowe continues to tease, means that you have all the makings of a fine episode.

Here’s the official logline:

“Dolores joins William and Logan on a bounty hunt in the badlands. The Man in Black, with Lawrence in tow, finds a critical clue in his search to unlock the maze. Dr. Ford and Theresa discuss the future of the park. Maeve is troubled by a recurring vision.”

“Dissonance Theory” premieres on Sunday, October 23 via HBO. Stay tuned for more Westworld coverage as the network’s captivating drama continues to unfold.
