No, it is not Billy.

When it comes to being a parent, anyone can be a dad, but few can become dads who step up. In the world of The Boys, it is only the half-assed who seem to survive and thrive in this area and, on this latest Father’s Day, the show’s worst is receiving his flowers.

One of the show’s official Twitter accounts acting under the guise of the fictional evil Vought International posted the above “tribute” earlier today. The re-used image from the show’s third season features Antony Starr’s Homelander reuniting with biological son Ryan and also alludes to some iconic moments from the show. There’s of course the time he pushed Ryan, the lab-grown character’s issues surrounding a propaganda piece where he had to be near a baseball and the post also alludes to the character potentially being on trial for a public murder in the coming season which does not yet have a release date revealed as of this story’s filing. So far, fans are carrying on the fiction in the comments and the main account for the show and its real heroes could not resist trolling either.

Determining who will win out with Ryan promises to be a major plot point in the project going forward. Showrunner Eric Kripke has discussed this ahead of the third season’s finale, other fans in the replies to the above post are arguing Homelander is doomed to fail with Ryan given his lack of parenting skills, and, for one, it is only Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher who can be his parent and a different daddy for others.

Whatever the case, audiences will have to wait and see just who emerges as the supreme daddy. Before this, the show’s Gen V spinoff will be on Amazon later this year and, it is expected to lead in to just what will end up happening within the mother show.
