Social media is already going nuts for this week’s truly insane cameos in The Mandalorian. If you’d told us yesterday that in 24 hours’ time we’d be seeing Jack Black and Lizzo making their Star Wars debut, we’d think you were pulling our leg. Well, we now live in a world where that happened, but while we’re still reeling, it’s also worth paying attention to another incredible guest star.

At the core of the episode is Security Commissioner Helgait, in charge of making sure this beautiful domed city runs smoothly. He’s played by none other than Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and The Addams Family‘s Christopher Lloyd.

The beloved star is now 84 years old, and while age has slowed down that manic Doc Brown spark, he’s still got the impish charisma and gravitas that made him a star. Understandably, fans are delighted to see him finally appear in Star Wars:

He’s still got it:

What a line-up…

Hell yes:

We loved the Dooku namedrop:

We really liked that the show leaned into Lloyd’s physical age by having him talk about surviving the Republic, the Empire, and professing his admiration for Count Dooku. If his character is roughly the same as he is in real life, this means Helgait would have already been around 40 at the time of The Phantom Menace, giving him an overview of dramatic galactic changes across the prequels and original trilogy.

We feel like Helgait is a one-and-done character, although seeing very old characters in Star Wars and hearing about their past is always a treat.
