The prognosis isn’t looking good for ‘Warrior Nun,’ but the Halo Bearers refuse to go down without a fight

You can't fault the enthusiasm, that's for sure.

It’s been almost seven months to the day since Warrior Nun was unceremoniously dumped by Netflix, and despite the best efforts of an insanely committed fandom, there’s not so much as a whiff of the series being picked up and renewed elsewhere.

The Halo Bearers have thrown their entire collective weight behind the campaign to resurrect the axed comic book adaptation, a concerted and worldwide effort that’s covered social media movements, petitions with hundreds of thousands of signatures, billboards in various cities around the world, and direct plays towards Apple TV and Hulu to name but a small few of the various avenues to have been trodden down.

And yet, it’s all fallen entirely on deaf ears so far, but that doesn’t mean anybody’s willing to give up. In fact, showrunner and executive producer Simon Barry has taken it upon himself to reiterate that despite being the brains behind the operation, Warrior Nun is by no means his baby and his alone.

There’s even a Warrior Nun convention brewing, but the more time passes, the less likely the chances of the show being brought back from the dead become. That’s not to say it won’t happen, and it realistically should when there’s clearly a massive audience there desperate to see more, but the supernatural fantasy being canned right before virtually every major combatant in the streaming wars started tightening their financial belts and embarking on content purges was the worst possible timing.

It ain’t over ’till it’s over, though, something the Halo Bearers have taken to heart.
