Per Collider, the Welsh star spilled piping hot tea about what is to come in the second season of the most expensive television series ever made:

“What I can tease about Season 2 is, there’s some very interesting villains coming.”

Clark plays the role of Galadriel in the Amazon Prime Video fantasy TV series, set in Middle-earth a millennium before the Third Age narrative of The Lord of the Rings film saga. The youthful Galadriel is struggling to process the death of her brother Finrod. She finds meaning in her grief by seeking retribution and taking up arms against the resurgence of evil in the world.

She is a warrior who has yet to undergo the metamorphosis that transforms her into the seasoned Elven sage that fans encounter in the Third Age. It will be interesting to see which villains she confronts and how they shape her as a ruler and leader of rebellions yet to come.

Clark has previously admitted that she sometimes finds it slightly intimidating to follow in the footsteps of Cate Blanchett, who played Galadriel in Peter Jackson’s trilogy. However, fans’ eagerness to see the latest extension of J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe propelled The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power to become Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched premiere in the streaming service’s history. Moreover, it received a positive critical reception, with many awed by its substance and optics.

The first season of The Rings of Power is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
