And it seems series showrunner Scott Gimple and his team plan to start season 8 as they mean to go on, which is to say that viewers ought to free up their schedule for the show’s long-anticipated return on October 22nd.
For a show that prides itself on gruesome effects and industry-standard makeup, this is a tantalizing peek behind the curtain to see how The Walking Dead operates. AMC’s juggernaut has always pushed the envelope when it comes to designing its zombies – word is the Powers That Be have even considered casting skilled contortionists for season 8 – and we fully expect Gimple and Co. to uphold tradition in five week’s time.
