War, war never changes – unless it involves flesh-munching zombies and a tiger by the name of Shiva.
That’s right, The Walking Dead season 8 is almost upon us, and if you’re still reeling from this morning’s deluge of high-res action shots, we’ve got good news: AMC has gone ahead and lifted the lid on this season’s suitably epic banner image.
Bringing together all of the show’s good guys, the star-studded spread cherry-picks all of your favorite survivors from across the Kingdom, Alexandria, and the Hilltop to create what is essentially Negan’s worst nightmare. Yes, now that Rick Grimes has struck up an uneasy alliance with the likes of Ezekiel and the ferocious Shiva, Negan and the Saviors are back-pedaling, and at least according to series showrunner Scott Gimple, the opening episodes of season 8 will leave viewers rooted to the edge of their seats.
Granted, it may not have garnered the same level of hype and excitement as last season’s premiere, which arrived after a long summer of speculation and second-guessing as to who Negan would kill, but all signs point to The Walking Dead season 8 being a breathless, memorable affair.
Besides, if nothing else, today’s super-sized banner is a welcome reminder that October 22nd is right around the corner, and those itching for their zombie fix can at least enjoy the ongoing third season of Fear The Walking Dead, AMC’s companion series that largely takes place on America’s sun-kissed west coast.
The Walking Dead shuffles back onto the small screen for its eighth season on October 22nd. And as if that wasn’t exciting enough, that premiere will also write its name in the history books as the show’s 100th episode.
