As we await the arrival of the Thirteenth Doctor on our screens, two stars of Doctor Who past have teamed up at a recent convention. This past weekend’s Wizard World in Texas featured former Time Lords David Tennant and Peter Capaldi coming together to meet their fans, giving us the multi-Doctor reunion we all want to see.

As well as being the Tenth and Twelfth Doctors, respectively, there are many other connections between the two actors. For instance, Capaldi made his Doctor Who debut opposite Tennant in 2008’s “Fires of Pompeii,” years before he became the owner of the TARDIS himself. They were both massive – and we mean MASSIVE – fans as children, too, with the show at least partially inspiring them to go into acting. As such, it must have been a special day for each of them when they discovered they’d landed their dream job.

You can check out a smattering of snaps from the convention below, in which Capaldi and Tennant also posed for photos with fellow Who stars like Alex Kingston (River Song) and Pearl Mackie (Bill Potts).

Of course, Tennant and Capaldi are both big supporters of Jodie Whittaker’s casting as the new Doctor. Tennant, in particular, is an old friend of the actress’ and has spoken many times about how he’s convinced she’ll be brilliant. Capaldi, though, has gone one further and is already saying that Whittaker is the best of the lot of them. Along with Matt Smith, the pair also gave the actress some advice about playing the part. What we wouldn’t give to have been a fly on the wall for that conversation.

Doctor Who season 11 kicks off with an hour-long premiere titled “The Woman Who Fell To Earth” on Sunday, October 7th. It’s set to be full of fresh concepts and faces, but we’re pretty sure that a return for both Tennant and Capaldi in a future Thirteenth Doctor episode would be a very popular idea amongst fans, wouldn’t you say?
