Titans May Be Adding Aqualad And Aquagirl In Season 2

Titans season 1 became an instant fan favorite when it arrived on DC Universe last year as it featured so many characters we either hadn't seen on screen before or we thought were off-limits to DC's TV division. And now, season 2 is only going to continue to exploit the freedom the show has to seemingly add in any character it wants by enlisting yet more iconic heroes and villains.

This apparently includes Aquaman’s young sidekicks Aqualad and Aquagirl. The Geeks Worldwide is reporting that Titans is due to add the Atlantean heroes to its line-up during its sophomore run. GWW says that Aqualad, likely the original Garth version, could show up thanks to info from the Titans Facebook fan group. Meanwhile, a casting breakdown for a 13-15 year-old Mediterranean girl to play a “funny, sarcastic and witty” character has them theorizing this could be Tula AKA Aquagirl.

If GWW’s on the money here, these characters will join fellow new recruit Superboy, as played by Joshua Orpin, who was teased at the end of season 1. On the villainous side of things, Esai Morales has signed up to play Deathstroke, presumably season 2’s big bad. Slade Wilson’s kids Jericho (Chella Man) and Ravager (Chelsea Zhang) are also set to appear, and Batman himself will play a proper role this year after being kept in the shadows and just out of shot in season 1. Game of Thrones star Iain Glen will take on the part of the Dark Knight.

Diving into the Aqua-verse would certainly be a smart idea, considering the enormous success of James Wan’s Aquaman movie last December. Wan’s even involved in another DC Universe property, Swamp Thing, as a producer, so he’d also be able to give Titans his blessing. Fingers – and fins – crossed this intel’s correct.
