Naturally, the fans are ecstatic about this development, and after weeks of staying tight-lipped on the matter, Tom Hiddleston has opened up somewhat with a new Twitter post that teases the mischief to come. The text in the tweet’s image reads almost like a short poem:

“Loki.

More stories to tell.

More mischief to make.

More to come.”

You better hope there’s more to come, because this news has left fans with a lot of questions, perhaps the most popular being, where does this series fit into the MCU timeline?

Though Thor’s brother appeared quite dead at the end of Avengers: Infinity War – Thanos even outright says “No resurrections this time.” – there’s still plenty of speculation out there that the character’s apparent demise is not what it seems. Hiddleston himself has even praised the theorists for their attention to detail in combing his scenes for clues. Nonetheless, the actor has yet to confirm either way, though you have to imagine that there are only so many times Marvel would be willing to pull the same old trick of faking the character’s death.

But while it remains to be seen whether the Loki show will be a sequel, a prequel, or something else entirely, Avengers 4 may provide some crucial context when it hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019. In the meantime, here’s hoping we won’t have to wait too long for some official news on that Scarlet Witch series.
