Vanna White’s rancid retro romantic comedy has already bombed her Hollywood career after ‘Wheel of Fortune’

This film will certainly haunt her every audition.

Vanna White’s contract with Wheel of Fortune will be up by the end of the 2023-24 season and if some concerning rumors are to be believed, she might be the next to bid farewell to the show after Pat Sajak. While she has many other things going on, in case anyone is expecting her to revert back to her Hollywood career, here is your homework — watch Goddess of Love and let us know if you survive to tell the tale.

Before becoming the constant and MVP of Wheel of Fortune — and even during it — White starred in a handful of films and TV shows. While none of them are particularly memorable, her role as the deity Venus in the 1988 television movie Goddess of Love — a fantasy romantic comedy — deserves a position on the top shelves of the worst of cinema.

Her long-running impressive presence on Wheel of Fortune and her prowess in carving her own space alongside Sajak — though Sony has ignored her importance for a long time — pretty much blurred out the more cringy parts of her career. So, her turn as the Goddess of Love who comes to Earth in search of her true love never really managed to create so much as a dent in her popularity as a renowned game show host.

Though the film was barely watched and holds a handful of reviews, its memories — still haunting those unfortunate enough to have seen it — have established Vanna White as one bad actress who received adjectives like “unfunny” and “corny” to describe her acting prowess.

Ouch!

Seeing that Goddess of Love is White’s one starring role in a sea of cameos, the reviews for the film and its tarnished reputation don’t really say “impressive resume.”

But is Vanna White leaving Wheel of Fortune?

For now, the answer is uncertain. As we mentioned above, her contract will soon end. So, will Vanna White also retire from Wheel of Fortune? Hopefully not, but then there are the rumors that she has hired a lawyer against Sony to fight for a salary hike — the last one happened like 18 years ago — as compared to her meager $3 million a year, Sajak earned up to $15 million. But there are also reports denying that Sony has any plans of cutting ties with White as TVLine discovered that “Sony is in active discussions to renew Vanna’s deal beyond her current contract.”

Here’s hoping White will continue clapping beyond season 41.
