AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 2 is right around the corner and the network has released four new chilling teasers, showcasing just a few high-tension moments with each one. Though the zombie horror TV series has been beset by troubles lately, these trailers certainly throw eager fans a bone and promise a terror-inducing second season.

Based on a graphic novel of the same name, The Walking Dead hit the small screen to incredible ratings and reviews. Frank Darabont is credited for much of its success, and recently he was replaced as the show’s frontrunner by Glen Mazzara.

Mazzara has basically been second in command on the show up till now, so hopefully the changing power structure won’t effect the quality of the series. What is more likely to effect the quality of the show is the reported budget cuts that led to Darabont’s concerns over quality and his subsequent departure.

Season 2 will see Sheriff Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, back as the ad hoc leader of a diminishing band of survivors after a zombie apocalypse. There will be some new characters this season, as well as some violence and gore taking place in the wilds of America. For those fans who have waited long enough for the second season to hit, this October looks to bring some undead scares back big time.

The Walking Dead Season 2 premieres on October 16th.
