The season two premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead left a record-breaking 7.3 million viewers begging for more.

The premiere smashed basic cable’s previous records, beating out USA’s 2002 premiere of The Dead Zone. According to Deadline, 38% of total viewers tuned in to watch a group of survivors fight off the zombie apocalypse.

“That The Walking Dead is now the most watched drama in the history of basic cable is staggering, just like our zombies,” AMC president Charlie Collier said.

Last year, the show’s series premiere achieved an impressive 5.2 million viewers.
