‘Warrior Nun’ showrunner does everyone a favor and single-handedly solves the verification problem

It's really that simple.

If you’re one of the many Twitter users preparing to bid farewell to the privilege of unpaid verification, an incredibly simple solution has been provided from an unlikely source, with Warrior Nun showrunner Simon Barry taking matters into his own hands to single-handedly solve a problem that’s guaranteed to become a site-wide issue in no time at all.

As part of Elon Musk’s wide-ranging plans to run the bird app directly into the ground, he came up with the genius idea of charging a fee to ensure people could prove who they were. Naturally, the option to say no is one that many have decided to take up for reasons that shouldn’t need explaining, but it will lead to a rise of impersonator accounts.

In order to combat such fakery, the mastermind behind one of Netflix’s most beloved premature cancellations has weighed in with a catch-all addition to his profile that’s so simple it borders on the genius.

Of course by the time you read this, there could already be a handful of Simon Barry accounts that boast the suffix “legacy blue check,” which would admittedly neuter his point within an instant. However, the dedicated Halo Bearers who’ve been carrying on the worldwide campaign to see the show renewed won’t fall for such a transparent ruse, so it’s reasonably sound in practice.

Either way, the social media giant will no doubt be descending into dismay and chaos as the day progresses while everyone gets to grips with the latest alterations, but at least Barry can sleep soundly knowing everyone will be able to recognize him as legit.
