During the Star Wars portion of the panel, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was joined on stage by the Scottish actor, who first boarded the franchise as the Jedi master 20 years ago in The Phantom Menace. To put all the confusion to bed, McGregor asked Kennedy to ask him whether he was returning so he could clear the air. Thankfully, he did, and the crowd went wild.

Though we know it’s definitely happening, we still don’t know much about the Obi-Wan show. It’s generally agreed by fans, though, that it must be set during the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Partly due to that making sense with McGregor’s age but also because that’s a huge period of Kenobi’s life that hasn’t been filled in much in the Star Wars canon.

If this is the case, then the show could crossover with Solo and help pick up the leftovers of the prequel movie following the cancellation of sequel plans. Darth Maul could even put in an appearance, with the two old foes facing off again in live-action for the first time since The Phantom Menace.

The currently untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series is due to start shooting in 2020. It’s not yet known when it will be landing on Disney Plus, but tell us, are you excited for the show? Sound off down below.
