It’s time for a special bonus episode of WGTC Radio, the official podcast of We Got This Covered! Remember to subscribe for free in iTunes by following this link!
Fifty years ago today, on November 23rd, 1963, a very special science-fiction series launched with its premiere episode, “An Unearthly Child.” That series is, of course, Doctor Who, and in its fiftieth year, it happens to be one of our very favorite television series here at WGTC Radio.
Thus, in honor of this landmark anniversary, we have recorded this special retrospective episode, in which Sean and I talk about all eleven Doctors and their best companions, count down the top 10 episodes of both the modern and classic series (you can read my list here), and go through a lightning round of various mini topics (Best one-off villain? Best alien race? Best Doctor costume? And so on and so on…). This is one of our personal favorite episodes we have ever recorded, a love letter to a show that has given us an incredible amount of entertainment over the years, and one which we are extremely excited to follow into the future.
Of course, today also marks the transmission of the show’s 50th Anniversary special, “The Day of the Doctor.” I will have a written review of that episode up a few hours after it airs, and we will talk about it at length in our next podcast, whenever we have time to record it.
Enjoy!
