What countries is Max available in?

Not a whole lot at the moment.

HBO Max has officially made its groundbreaking rebrand as Max as of today, which will see the streamer combine its content with that of Warner Bros. Discovery’s (WBD) Discovery Plus.

Per Variety, the rebrand marks a new chapter in the brand’s content strategy going forward, with the recent press presentation offering such glimpses as a prioritization of children and family content (one such series being Cartoon Network’s new show Tiny Toons Looniversity), a new show in The Big Bang Theory universe (for some reason), the upcoming Harry Potter television reboot that nobody asked for, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight; a brand new Game of Thrones spinoff series.

Like a fair shake of this content, the Max rebrand was a peculiar choice, so to speak, but with such content as James Gunn’s DC Universe shows and the next season of The Last of Us among its roster, both new and longtime HBO Max subscribers will probably be more than happy to stick around; provided, of course, they have the option to stick around in the first place.

What countries is Max available in?

At present, Max is only available in the United States, but that’s set to change as the months go on.

WBD’s CEO of content and gaming, JB Perrette, noted at the conference that there are plans in place to roll the service out to Latin American territories in the fall of this year, while Europe, Asia-Pacific regions, and other markets will be tapped in early, mid, and yet unconfirmed timeframes in 2024, respectively.

As for Canada, it’s safe to say that the successor of HBO Max, which was never made available in the country, will follow in those particular footsteps. But, considering Canadians can watch HBO content through the Crave TV streaming service, we imagine the same will be true for at least most of Max’s content as well.
