Whatever happened to Aziraphale’s bookshop? New ‘Good Omens 2’ poster answers that question for you

The mere fact that we have a Good Omens 2 to look forward to is a miracle — especially given the fact that the limited mini-series already burned through the book’s narrative — but as Aziraphale would say in a situation like this, while these developments have been unlikely, they aren’t necessarily ineffable.

We still have a little under two months before the next season premieres on Prime Video, so the show’s marketing machine is gaining momentum by releasing enticing snippets. The latest comes in the form of an official poster (courtesy of Collider), which depicts Aziraphale’s bookshop, of all things, and what you can expect to see in it in the upcoming run.

While we wouldn’t necessarily say that the bookshop was an iconic set piece from season 1, it was a homely enough retreat for Aziraphale and his best friend as they tried to plan their next move against their angelic and demonic peers.

Amazon has also seen fit to release the title sequence, which features the iconic main theme from the original series. The animation is also in the same style, but the scenery portends a much greater doom to come in season 2.

Good Omens was originally released after a shared effort by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett. The fantasy novelist is no longer with us to give his insight on Aziraphale and Crowley’s supposed next big adventure, but Gaiman is every bit a custodian of the story as Pratchett was, so we have no doubt that this new extension of the narrative will sit well with fans, especially considering the unbelievable chemistry between David Tennant’s Crowley and Michael Sheen’s Aziraphale.

One might even argue that the two actors are the main reason we’re looking forward to Good Omens 2, not some apocalypse that they’ll no doubt manage to stop in its tracks by the end of it.

Good Omens 2 premieres on Prime Video come July 28.
