Big Brother is a popular reality TV series that gives audiences nearly unfettered viewing access to a collective of mostly strangers, known as “HouseGuests”, living in a house that is cut off from the outside world. The HouseGuests compete for a cash prize of $500,000 ($750,000 in the 23rd season and subsequent seasons). The show debuted in America in July of 2000 (it was originally a Dutch reality series that has the same name as the U.S. version).
During the competition, the HouseGuests are periodically evicted from the house in which they’re being filmed by being voted out of the competition.
Nothing the HouseGuests do is private. They are constantly watched by live television cameras in the house and recorded on wearable audio microphones. It’s been a controversial show over the years: Big Brother has faced criticism after there were reports of “HIB” (Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying), violence among the contestants, and obscene language.Â
But fans want to know: where are the HouseGuests when they’re being filmed for the show? Where is the Big Brother house located? Big Brother is filmed in Studio City, which is a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California in the southeast San Fernando Valley, just west of the Cahuenga Pass.
The house in which the contestants live, laugh, love, and fight is located on a sound-stage studio lot inside the CBS Studio Center, known as CBS Center Sound Stage 18.
Big Brother season 24 has just finished, and season 25 is on its way to giving viewers more drama and entertainment!
