Why did Ahsoka Tano leave the Jedi order?

Ahsoka Tano’s departure from the Jedi Order was depicted during season five of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. During that season, the Jedi Temple was bombed, and Ahsoka was framed for the death of the suspect, Letta Turmond. While investigating Letta, surveillance footage showed that a Jedi killed her just as she was about to reveal the person who had ordered her to plant explosive nano-droids.

During the trial, Ahsoka was represented by Padmé Amidala, while Anakin sought to uncover the truth behind Letta’s death and bombing. It was revealed that a member of the Jedi Order and Ahsoka’s friend, Barriss Offee, was responsible and admitted in front of Ahsoka and the Jedi Order. Barriss claimed that she no longer agreed with the Jedi Order’s stood for and believed they were responsible for the war.

After the Jedi Masters apologized, they welcomed Ahsoka back to the Order, recognizing her potential to become a Jedi Knight. Unfortunately, Ahsoka refused to return due to the council’s lack of trust in her. From then on, Ahsoka forged her own path and managed to survive Order 66.

Ahsoka was among the few Jedi who survived the Sith’s attack on the Jedi. Despite no longer being part of the Order, she remained a skilled Jedi and eventually crossed paths with Luke Skywalker, the son of her former master. Ahsoka’s story will continue when the series premieres on Disney Plus on Aug. 23, 2023.
