Will Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant Return In Supergirl Season 2?

When the decision was made to move Supergirl from CBS to The CW, budget cuts were made which included moving the production from Los Angeles to Vancouver (the home of the network’s other DC TV shows). Unwilling to move from Hollywood to Canada so she could remain close to her family, Calista Flockhart decided not to return as a regular cast member for season 2.

That upset a lot of fans, especially as Cat Grant has become such a big part of Kara Danvers’ story. The character did at least show up in the first couple of episodes of Supergirl‘s second season to wrap her arc up, and it was said at the time that the door was open to her once again showing up somewhere down the line.

When it that going to happen? Well, according to TV Line’s Michael Ausiello, there are currently no confirmed plans for Flockhart to return to Supergirl at this time. However, the site mentions that there has been talk of a short-term comeback in the spring, which gives fans of Cat something to look forward to assuming it actually happens.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but now that Kara has a new boss and the supporting cast has been shaken up with major changes in the lives of James Olsen and Alex Danvers, the show hasn’t really missed Cat.
