With the ‘Ahsoka’ premiere on the horizon, Disney celebrates Rosario Dawson’s ‘Star Wars’ journey

Hopefully, we won't have to stare off into these twin suns for too much longer before 'Ahsoka' hits Disney Plus this August.

Rosario Dawson deserves all the love — plain and simple. As charismatic as any actor working today, Dawson’s journey to becoming Ahsoka Tano has forever changed that galaxy far, far away.

In a recent video shared across social media by official Star Wars accounts everywhere, Disney paid tribute to Dawson and her portrayal of Anakin Skywalker’s former apprentice.

This is one of those trailers that reminds us how much of a phenomenon Star Wars really is. Set to release on Disney Plus this August, fans won’t have to wait long to see Ahsoka — a standalone show for Dawson’s wayward Jedi of the same name.

The truth is, everyone loves Ahsoka, and why wouldn’t they? She’s absolutely awesome. Created by George Lucas’ Padawan turned Master, Dave Filoni, Ahsoka Tano is a Jedi unlike any we’ve ever seen before (or since). Which is why Rosario Dawson’s live-action portrayal of the character is such a big deal.

Fans picked her. That’s it, that’s all. Way back in 2017, sci-fi fans around the globe lobbied for Dawson to pick up Ahsoka’s twin sabers and kick all sorts of butt. Thankfully, she did, and now we get to sit back and enjoy the show. Literally.

All that we can do now is watch some of the promotional materials for the upcoming show, and maybe a few key episodes of The Mandalorian to fill in any Ahsoka-themed gaps. As for me? I’ll be meditating like Master Yoda until this show drops on August 23.
