The Flash Season 5

XS Goes Through Speedster 101 In Trailer For Next Week’s Episode Of The Flash

By now, I certainly hope that everyone reading this has had an opportunity to view The Flash's season 5 premiere. As I'd hinted at in my five-star review, showrunner Todd Helbing and company have been able to recapture the magic that made the first two years so special. In fact, the excitement I'm feeling right now is the very same I was experiencing during the earliest of Barry Allen's adventures.

As I’d hinted at in my five-star review, showrunner Todd Helbing and company have been able to recapture the magic that made the first two years so special. Of course, a big round of applause must also go to those putting in the work in front of the camera, for Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes and the rest of the gang really brought their A-game. Additionally, newcomer Jessica Parker Kennedy knocked it out of the park as Nora West-Allen AKA XS, Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future.

So, now that she’s staying behind in the present for a while, her father is opting to help her be the best speedster she can be by teaching her the fundamentals. After all, who better to learn from than the best? And if the first trailer promoting “Blocked” (seen at the top) reveals anything to us, it’s that the whole process will make for some entertaining television.

Right now, I’m hoping that the humor witnessed doesn’t portend anything too over the top, as I felt season 4 went too far with the comedy. But, as my gut tells me, odds are we’ll continue seeing the incredible bond shared between Barry and Nora that I know I will one day miss. Hey, they did pretty much tell us she’s not sticking around forever.

For more on next week’s episode that’s set to better acquaint us with new big bad Cicada, be sure to give the official synopsis a gander:

CHRIS KLEIN JOINS “THE FLASH” — As Barry (Grant Gustin) helps his daughter, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy), become a better speedster, he and Team Flash also track down a meta stealing high-tech weapons, only to cross paths with a new foe named Cicada (Chris Klein), who is hunting the very same meta with nefarious intent. Kim Miles directed the episode written by Eric Wallace & Judalina Neira (502). Original airdate 10/16/2018

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
