Exclusive Video Interview: Vicetone Talk Writing The Ultra Anthem And Working As A Team

Ruben Den Boer and Victor Pool are a match made in Dutch DJ Heaven. Best known as Vicetone, the duo have soared to success over the past three years. The two were childhood friends and began to produce music together in 2012. Their single, “United We Dance” was featured in the 2014 Ultra aftermovie, and this year’s release, “Follow Me,” was named the Ultra 2015 official anthem.

Vicetone have remixed the likes of Calvin Harris, Zedd, Maroon 5, and Cash Cash, and their strong, progressive sound has resulted in anthem-worthy hits like “Lowdown” and “Heat.” Their musicality and ability to meld beautiful vocals and melodies together results in a powerful, original Vicetone sound, and fans can’t seem to get enough of it.

The chilling “Let Me Feel,” made with Nicky Romero, became their first Beatport #1, and the duo are constantly releasing new music – the latest being “Angels” featuring Kat Nestel. With a busy tour schedule, an arsenal of unreleased music, and a Las Vegas residency, it’s no surprise Vicetone was ranked #36 in the 2014 DJ MAG Top 100.

Recently, Ruben and Victor brought their energy to the Ultra Main Stage during Miami Music Week. Shortly after their electrifying set, we had the chance to catch up with them for an exclusive interview. During our discussion, we spoke about writing the Ultra anthem, working together in the studio, what’s up next in terms of new music, and more.
