‘Harry Potter’ star Sir Michael Gambon dies at 82

Michael Gambon, who played Dumbledore in six Harry Potter movies, has died at the age of 82.

According to a statement from his publicist on behalf of his family, he passed away peacefully in the hospital after a bout of pneumonia.

Gambon had an acting career spanning decades that included films such as Layer Cake, The King's Speech, and Paddington, as well as the BAFTA Award-winning lead role in the BBC series The Singing Detective.
