Warner Bros. may have just publicly executed ‘Fantastic Beasts,’ and nobody cares

By Scott Campbell

Warner Bros.  Discovery  CEO David Zaslav recently announced during a shareholders' meeting a desire to focus on franchises, including Harry Potter.

But the Harry Potter spinoff franchise, Fantastic Beasts, was notably absent from the discussion.

Variety also reported: "There are no active discussions currently with Rowling about developing another Harry Potter movie, according to a studio source. There is also currently nothing in 'the Wizarding World' in active development at Warner Bros."

Sadly, it seems that nobody was at all surprised about Fantastic Beasts' fate

"So Fantastic Beasts franchise is dead, confirmed." —@DanielRPK

How do you keep making HP films if Rowling keeps writing terrible scripts while doubling down on trans hate/misinformation? Plus, the diminishing returns for the Fantastic Beasts movies likely means the next two movies are dead." —@_ChristopherM

"Fantastic Beasts 4 is dead." —@Elbert_Reyner
