With the news that Evolve has gone gold now official, Turtle Rock Studios has unveiled some additional news about the shooter’s upcoming beta test on the Xbox One, which is set to begin next Thursday, January 15th.

Thanks to consistent news posts on the official Evolve website, we already knew that the open beta would grant players access to two monsters (Goliath and Kraken), the first eight hunters and a handful of maps. Now, as a bonus to those who pre-purchase the shooter, gamers will have access to even more content.

In order to take advantage of this offer, you will need to pre-purchase Evolve either before the beta begins or during it. Upon doing so, you will be granted access the final four hunters (Parnell, Abe, Caira, and Cabot) and one additional monster (Wraith). Besides being allowed access to the characters during the beta, they will also be instantly unlocked in the final version of the game.

As a fan of the Left 4 Dead franchise, I have been eagerly anticipating getting my hands on Evolve. It has been a long time since Turtle Rock Studios has released anything, and the subsequent delay of the title out of 2014 has only made the wait even worse. Thankfully, we are slowly itching closer to the full release of the shooter, which is set for February 10th.

To our Xbox One owning readers, I ask, will you be taking part in the Evolve open beta when it begins next week? Let us know in the comments section below.
