PS Store Listing Confirms Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD Download Size On PlayStation 4; New Screens Reveal A Remastered Spira

It has been a full fourteen years since Final Fantasy X released for PlayStation 2 and Square Enix has ensured that both it and its off-beat, quasi-sequel X-2 remain fresh in the mind of the FF faithful with a pair of re-releases on Ps3 and PS Vita last year. However, the Japanese publisher is going all-in when it comes to Sony's platforms with the upcoming release of Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD on PlayStation 4.

It has been a full fourteen years since Final Fantasy X released for PlayStation 2 and Square Enix has ensured that both it and its off-beat, quasi-sequel X-2 remain fresh in the minds of the FF faithful with a pair of re-releases on Ps3 and PS Vita last year. However, the Japanese publisher is going all-in when it comes to Sony’s platforms with the upcoming release of Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD on PlayStation 4.

Due to hit Sony’s current-gen hardware on May 12, a bevy of screenshots have been released for the JRPG pairing, showcasing the fantastical realm of Spira like you’ve never seen it before. That’s not the only news tidbit we have for you today, though. With the remaster now available to pre-order digitally, the online listing for X & X-2 HD confirms that PS4 owners ought to reserve 31.8GB of hard drive space prior to the arrival of the re-release.

Mind you, if you do wish to put down money ahead of time and reserve your copy, Square noted that digital pre-orders will come bundled with an exclusive Blitzball theme for PlayStation 4, the underwater sport – and addictive side-quest – that sends the Spira denizens wild.

Square Enix will ensure PlayStation 4 is now the fourth platform that the company’s beloved JRPG coupling are available on when Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD release on May 12 in North America.
