Our wait for Sony to unveil its PlayStation Plus line-up for the month of July has perhaps felt a little longer than usual given how early Microsoft confirmed its Games with Gold offerings. Then again, if you’re a PlayStation 4 owner, today’s announcement will certainly be worth the wait now that July will herald no less than four games for Sony’s current-gen hardware.
Toplined by Rocket League and Styx: Master of Shadows, PS4 users will also gain access to Mousecraft and Entwined courtesy of Cross-Buy. It’s Pysonix’s hyper-kinetic racer that is arguably gaining the most attention of the bunch, blending vehicle mechanics with the beautiful game itself for instant multiplayer mayhem. Rocket League is also arriving hot on the heels of a beta test, and we’re excited to see how its release pans out on PlayStation 4 next week.
Speaking of which, all of these new additions will launch onto the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection on Tuesday, July 7 across both North America and Europe. As for the remainder of Sony’s systems, PlayStation 3 users can expect Mousecraft and the artistic platformer rain, whereas Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved and Entwined will be available for PlayStation Vita.
Here’s a detailed rundown of what’s coming and going on the Instant Game Collection come July 7. It should also be noted that DriveClub‘s free-to-download PlayStation Plus Edition is finally available after a prolonged delay.
