It seems that the full cast for Avengers: Age of Ultron has now been assembled! Marvel Studios has confirmed today that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, best known for his role as Kick-Ass, and Elizabeth Olsen, the terrific young star of Martha Marcy May Marlene, are signed on to play the brother-sister duo of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Both actors have spoken in liberty about their casting in the highly anticipated sequel to the 2012 box office behemoth, but Marvel only just made the news official this morning.

Taylor-Johnson had not yet been confirmed for the part due to complications with doing press for next summer’s Godzilla reboot, but had fought hard to win the role of Quicksilver/Pietro Maximoff. In an interview with Total Film last summer, the Nowhere Boy actor said that he was excited to take on a character with so much history.

“There’s years – over 50 years – of backstory on him all there to use, and I like doing that,” Taylor-Johnson said. “His sister really is his guidance – emotionally she’s the one who looks after him, and vice versa. He’s very overprotective physically – he doesn’t want anyone touching her.”

Olsen, on board to play his twin sister and partner-in-crime Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff, will also appear in Godzilla with Taylor-Johnson. Earlier this month, she told Screen Rant that she was also doing a lot of research on the coveted character.

“It’s really exciting. But the imagination, like to a child, and like running around in a play yard is what it feels like right now. And that sounds like so much fun, but you still want to approach it with the same kind of like ‘No, this is where she’s from,’ and it’s real.”

Seeing as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch’s father is Magneto, who will be on screen in next summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, it will be interesting to see whether Marvel tries to tie in those two comic-book universes together at some point in the future.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will kick off the summer movie season and hope to destroy all box office records on May 1, 2015. Tell us, are you excited about Taylor-Johnson and Olsen’s casting.
