Rumor has it that Abbey Lee and Alona Tal are being eyed for the part of Black Canary in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Justice League film. The scoop comes to us from the usually reliable Latino-Review, who tell us that Warner Bros. is considering both actresses for the part, and intends to introduce the character in either part 1 or 2 of the upcoming superhero team-up flick.
Furthermore, the rumor goes on to state that Black Canary may also feature in a Birds of Prey film, which would be based on another superhero group that was formed by Canary and Barbara Gordon and went on to include characters like Huntress and Lady Blackhawk.
While Black Canary currently appears on The CW’s Arrow, the studio isn’t looking to cast the same actress for the big screen version, which is why they’re currently eyeing other candidates. No word yet on who else may be up for the role, but it appears that Lee and Tal are the frontrunners. For the time being, at least.
