Anti-Disney Facebook Group Planning To Sabotage Infinity War And Solo’s Review Scores

The alt-right Facebook group who claimed responsibility for the Black Panther review sabotage has reportedly placed its crosshairs on Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The alt-right Facebook page known as “Down With Disney’s Treatment of Franchises and its Fanboys” is back with a vengeance.

Back in December, the hate group claimed responsibility for the concerted attack on Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Its sole purpose? To sabotage the film’s review score over on Rotten Tomatoes, and those of you who have followed this situation closely will know that Black Panther was hit with a similar barrage of spiteful negativity soon thereafter.

And now, it seems Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story, another pair of big-name titles from Disney, have become the latest targets. As reported by industry sleuth Jeremy Conrad, the Facebook page posted a call to arms earlier today on the belief that Infinity War and Solo ought to be undermined because they reinforce “Disney’s Liberal Agenda” and its alleged discrimination of straight, white men. Yeah, we’re not sure we understand either, but here’s a screenshot of said post in case it’s deleted:

Beyond the small dent in The Last Jedi and Black Panther‘s respective RT Audience Scores, the alt-right group didn’t have much of a bearing on either film’s performances, given they both collected more than a $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Hell, given their franchise credentials, we wouldn’t be all that surprised if Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story joined them in Hollywood’s billion-dollar club when all is said and done, particularly after those updated forecasts predicted a huge $225 million opening for Infinity War in North America.

We’ll be able to form a better understanding of the sequel’s performance from April 27th. Solo, on the other hand, is currently riding the crest of a wave following last night’s trailer debut, which certainly bodes well for it ahead of the spinoff’s arrival on May 25th.
