You know, those characters who might not have films named after them but have still caught fans’ attention in their small but memorable roles in these movies. What happened to all of them when the Mad Titan snapped his fingers? Well, Uproxx’s Mike Ryan interviewed Infinity War co-director Joe Russo and asked him the all-important question: did the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who sneakily played Galaga during The Avengers survive the events of the recent movie?

Russo had some bad news for fans of the IT guy who loved to slack off, unfortunately, revealing that he “got snapped in the middle of a Galaga game. He was seconds away from his all-time high score.” Oh, come on, Joe, you’re just rubbing salt in the wound now!

In case you don’t remember, the Galaga guy appears during the scene when the Avengers have convened on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Amongst other quick-fire observations, Tony Stark points to one background character and claims that they’re secretly playing the classic video game. At the end of the scene, it’s revealed that Stark’s right, as the agent resumes his game. Despite being such a throwaway scene, it’s become a bit of a meme with Marvel fans.

Unfortunately, this underrated hero won’t get the chance to do what he loves anymore, thanks to the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Rest in itty bitty dusty pieces, Galaga guy. We hardly knew you.
