Cowboys and Aliens is one of the films I’ve been looking forward to for a very long time. Even though its concept comes from a comic book, which can be hit or miss depending on the source material, the casting of Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Sam Rockwell and Clancy Brown is making the little nerd boy in me go nuts. The fact that Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Steven Spielberg are producing and Jon Favreau is directing also factors into my excitement. It’s also one of the few action films being released this summer that is not using the worthless 3-D effect.
A new featurette that includes interviews from Spielberg, Howard, Favreau and writers/producers Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, has been released this week that gives fans a peek at what’s going on behind the scenes. It looks like a fun Old West-meets-aliens type of flick. Hopefully, it’ll live up to the trailers and hype.
Cowboys & Aliens will be released on July 29, 2011.
