It’s difficult to imagine another actor playing Captain America in the MCU now that we’ve seen Chris Evans own the role on so many different occasions over the years. But back before the Snowpiercer star signed on to play the Sentinel of Liberty, there were several other contenders for the part in Captain America: The First Avenger – and a select few even got to the trying-on-of-the-costume stage of negotiations.
One of these was former Office actor and star of Michael Bay’s new movie 13 Hours, John Krasinski. In an interview with Digital Spy, Krasinski reveals that he might still be interested in taking another crack at the MCU as a different character – specifically a villain, if he has any say in it.
I’ll take a Marvel movie anytime. I love watching them, so I’d love to be a part of it. The Captain America thing was hilarious. As much as I had fun doing it… I definitely got to wear the suit, I screen-tested and all those things. And I signed my life away that I wouldn’t even talk about it, so they’re going to kill me now; Thanks.
But as soon as I heard that Chris [Evans] was considering it, I applauded. Chris is a good friend, and very very good at what he does, so I was so happy to see him do it. Maybe now I have to play a villain where I fight Chris. That’s what we need to do.
