Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim is almost here and in case you’re still unaware of just how huge this film is going to be, Warner Bros. has released one last trailer. Arriving on July 12th, the monster vs. robots flick is currently experiencing some mixed buzz. Some are saying that the film delivers on everything that we’re expecting of it while others are saying that it’s tracking pretty low and may not be the heavy hitter that the studio is hoping for.

Personally, I think the film looks awesome and am eagerly anticipating it. I can see why there’s a concern over whether or not Pacific Rim will connect with general audiences but I think that when all is said and done, the film will be deemed a success.

In this final trailer, Warner Bros. makes the smart decision of focusing more on the human characters in the story, rather than the robots and monsters. We haven’t seen much of the human players thus far and still don’t really know a whole lot about them, which is why it’s smart to give them the spotlight in this latest piece of promotional material.

Leading the cast is Charlie Hunnam who, along with Charlie Day, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman and Rinko Kikuchi, make up the characters trying to fight for humanity’s survival. The additional characterization shown in this trailer is definitely nice to see and while it looks like all the lead actors are giving great performances, the spotlight will no doubt be on those epic monsters vs. robots battles.

Pacific Rim hits theatres on July 12th. Check out the final trailer below and let us know what you think.
