Falcon Gets His Own Captain America: The Winter Soldier Poster

Continuing the Hollywood tradition of releasing "character posters" for every single character in a tentpole movie, we now have a new poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, featuring Anthony Mackie as Cap's new ally, Falcon. It doesn't really reveal anything new, and I'd argue that it's not as exciting as the previously released international character poster, but it's still an exciting look at the winged hero.

Continuing the Hollywood tradition of releasing “character posters” for every single character in a tentpole movie, we now have a new poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier featuring Anthony Mackie as Cap’s new ally, Falcon. It doesn’t really reveal anything new, and I’d argue that it’s not as exciting as the previously released international character poster, but it’s still a somewhat exciting look at the winged hero.

While the poster may not be much, I am impressed with how well the directors Anthony and Joe Russo have adapted the character for the big screen. In the comic book, Falcon has a pretty cheesy red and white costume that simply wouldn’t work in live action. Thankfully, the Russo brothers have grounded his look enough to fit within the Marvel cinematic universe.

His costume reminds me a lot of what the studio did with Hawkeye, giving him more of a military look while abandoning the typical superhero tights and bright colors. From what we’ve seen of Falcon in the various trailers, he looks like he’ll be one of the most visually exciting parts of the movie. Adding a character with a wingsuit presents all kinds of exciting opportunities, and I’m sure we’re in store for some very impressive aerial action sequences.

What do you think of the new Falcon poster? Are you excited to see him in Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Let us know in the comments!
