Though Peter Parker has struck up an uneasy alliance with many of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes thanks to Captain America: Civil War – most notably Tony Stark, who provides the Web-Head with a surrogate father figure and a raft of cutting-edge tech – by the time we arrive at Spider-Man: Homecoming, Parker will be spending most of his time with two close allies: Ned Leeds and Michelle.

Played by Jacob Batalon and former Disney Channel star Zendaya – for what it’s worth, the actress continues to insist that she’s playing Michelle in Homecoming, not Mary Jane Watson – SMTV Reports has relayed a fresh wave of high-res pics for Jon Watts’ imminent reboot. Embedded above, you’ll catch a new look at Tom Holland’s Web-Head kitted out in costume, while there’s also another peek at the nefarious Adrian Toomes (AKA The Vulture), who appears to be moseying around a pile of rubble. Early story tidbits have revealed that Michael Keaton’s big bad stumbles upon alien tech while performing a clean-up job soon after the battle for New York – and that’s the one featured in Avengers, not The Defenders – which eventually seeds the creation of The Vulture we know and fear.

As the Big Apple plunges into chaos once more, it’s up to our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man to save the day, and at least based on the buzz generated by the most recent trailer, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn’t believe that Marvel and director Jon Watts have a hit on their hands in the form of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The film will make a beeline for theaters on July 7th and looks set to propel the MCU to new heights box office-wise, too, after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stormed to a $160 million opening weekend on home turf.
