Talk about disappointing news to wake up to. Less than one week after Jessica Biel was reported to have been offered the role of Viper in The Wolverine, Collider tells us that talks have broken down between Biel and 20th Century Fox and she will no longer star in the film.

The cast that has been announced is predominantly Japanese, but being that Viper is of Eastern European descent, the casting of Biel made sense, as she does have a bit of that look in her. From what I know of the character, Biel seemed like a good fit and honestly, I’m a bit upset that it didn’t work out.

As for a replacement, the first actress that comes to my mind is Mila Kunis, who was born in Ukraine and fits the Eastern European aspect of the character, though she doesn’t strike me as someone who could play a villain. Another option could be Olga Kurylenko, also from Ukraine, whose performance was one of the best parts of Quantum of Solace.

What do you think? Would you like to see either of the actresses I named take the role or do you have someone else in mind? Let us know in the comments below.
