Leonardo DiCaprio And Jonah Hill To Reunite For The Ballad Of Richard Jewell

After starring together in one of 2013's best films, The Wolf of Wall Street, Hollywood A-listers Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill will be teaming up again for The Ballad of Richard Jewell, which is coming to us from 20th Century Fox. Adapted from Marie Brenner's 1997 Vanity Fair article, the film will tell the true story of the titular security guard, who was working at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics when he discovered three pipe bombs. Though he was considered a hero at first, the public soon vilified him when Jewell became the prime suspect, despite no evidence to support that he was behind it.

After starring together in one of 2013’s best films, The Wolf of Wall Street, Hollywood A-listers Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill will be teaming up again for The Ballad of Richard Jewell, which is coming to us from 20th Century Fox. Adapted from Marie Brenner’s 1997 Vanity Fair article, the film will tell the true story of the titular security guard, who was working at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics when he discovered three pipe bombs. Though he was considered a hero at first, the public soon vilified him when Jewell became the prime suspect, despite no evidence to support that he was behind it.

Hill will be playing Jewell while DiCaprio will play his lawyer. No director or screenwriter has been attached just yet but with these two Hollywood heavyweights now on board, you can expect things to get moving quickly. Maybe they can convince Scorsese to direct? Now wouldn’t that be something.

After seeing how well the duo worked together in Wolf, this news is not at all surprising to hear. Both Hill and DiCaprio have been praising each other for several months now and given the success that they found with their last film, it only seems right to keep making movies together. The Ballad of Richard Jewell seems like a really interesting project, too. It’s a story that many people are likely unfamiliar with but one that could make for a potentially fantastic film, especially with Hill and DiCaprio leading the way.

We’ll keep you posted when we hear more on The Ballad of Richard Jewell but for now, tell us, are you happy to see Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill teaming up again? Did you enjoy their work in The Wolf of Wall Street? Sound off in the comments section below.
