Matthew McConaughey Calls Interstellar The Most Ambitious Thing Christopher Nolan Has Ever Done

In a recent interview with Matthew McConaughey, which we highly recommend you check out as it's a very good read, Variety managed to sneak in a question about one of the actor's upcoming films, Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. Of course, he wouldn't reveal much, but McConaughey did tell them that it's the most ambitious thing that Nolan has ever done, which is certainly saying a lot.

The McConaissance is well underway and shows no signs of slowing down. Arguably, Matthew McConaughey is one of the most in demand actors currently working in Hollywood and with his seemingly unstoppable hot streak looking to continue into the foreseeable future, things are only going to get bigger and brighter for him.

In a recent interview with McConaughey, which we highly recommend that you check out as it’s a very good read, Variety managed to sneak in a question about one of the actor’s upcoming films, Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. Of course, he wouldn’t reveal much, but McConaughey did tell them that it’s the most ambitious thing that Nolan has ever done, which is certainly saying a lot.

“Here’s what I can tell you, It’s the most ambitious thing he’s ever done. And he’s done some ambitious stuff. … There’s no fucking around on set. He’s a great problem solver. In that way, he’s very indie. Here’s a guy who could have whatever budget he wants — and we finished shooting early.”

Given the fact that Nolan is the man behind films like Inception and Memento, calling Interstellar his most ambitious project to date is something that intrigues us quite a bit. The director has been known to “blow our minds” from time to time and I cannot even imagine what he has in store for us with this one, especially if it’s going to be more ambitious than Inception.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out just what Nolan has up his sleeve as the film’s fall release date is quickly approaching.

Co-starring  Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, David Oyelowo, Wes Bentley, John Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn, Topher Grace and Matt Damon, among others, Interstellar opens on November 7, 2014.
