Cut from the same cloth of espionage thrillers as much of Le Carre’s work, the feature is arriving by way of Roadside Attractions, which has unveiled the first clip ahead of its theatrical bow in the UK early next month. It’s set to make it’s way across the pond in time for July 1.

Thrusting Ewan McGregor and Naomie Harris’ holidaying couple into a global game of cat and mouse, Our Kind of Traitor introduces the lovestruck pair to Dima, a seemingly friendly chap played by Stellan Skarsgard. Unaware that their new acquaintance has deep ties to the Russian Mob, McGregor and Harris’ Perry and Gail are drawn into a seedy criminal underworld – a morally questionable journey that may have them going against British intelligence.

Also starring Damian Lewis and Sherlock star Mark Gatiss, Our Kind of Traitor shoots for UK theaters on May 6, before opening for those in North America on July 1.

While on holiday in Marrakech, an ordinary English couple, Perry (Ewan McGregor) and Gail (Naomie Harris), befriend a flamboyant and charismatic Russian, Dima (Stellan Skarsgård), who unbeknownst to them is a kingpin money launderer for the Russian mafia. When Dima asks for their help to deliver classified information to the British Secret Services, Perry and Gail get caught in a dangerous world of international espionage and dirty politics. The couple is propelled on a perilous journey through Paris and Bern, a safe house in the French Alps, to the murky corners of the City of London and an alliance with the British Government via a ruthless and determined MI6 agent (Damian Lewis).
