New Fantastic Four Poster Showcases Jamie Bell’s The Thing

Though a myriad of stills and even the film's first trailer have already blasted onto the Internet, we've yet to get up close and personal with the Fantastic Four in all of their glory. The aforementioned sizzle reel, for instance, doubled down on the group's origins story, which will send Marvel's First Family careering into an alternate dimension -- a realm where they will receive their otherworldly abilities.

Though a myriad of stills and even the film’s first trailer have already blasted onto the Internet, we’ve yet to get up close and personal with the Fantastic Four in all of their glory. The aforementioned sizzle reel, for instance, doubled down on the group’s origins story, which will send Marvel’s First Family careering into an alternate dimension – a realm where they will receive their otherworldly abilities.

Speaking of which, today an international banner has been doing the rounds that just so happens to showcase the best look at Jamie Bell’s rendition of The Thing to date. Granted, it’s not exactly the clearest of stills, but it does give fans a good indication of Ben Grimm’s rock-strewn appearance following the team’s space-faring trip.

Taking many cues from the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic arc, it’s understood that Trank’s reboot will place more emphasis on the science behind the titular family, thereby paving the way for a more grounded and realistic tone in lieu of 2005’s misfire. Fox clearly has confidence in the director’s vision, as a sequel has already been given the go-ahead, though whether this retelling can win over the fans is certainly the more pressing challenge.

Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Teller will unite as the Fantastic Four when Josh Trank’s superhero reboot makes its way to the big screen in time for August 7. For now, you can check out Bell’s alter-ego in the screen grab below.

Fantastic-Four

THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
